Blue Tang No Tail (Paracanthurus hepatus)
A vibrant and iconic surgeonfish recognized for its deep blue body, black “palette” pattern. Known for its constant grazing on algae, it adds dynamic movement and bold coloration to aquariums.
Native:
Indo-Pacific region, including the Great Barrier Reef, Philippines, Indonesia, and surrounding coral reef systems.
Lighting:
Moderate to high reef lighting.
Placement:
Active mid to upper swimmer. Requires ample open swimming space and well-established live rock for grazing. Minimum tank size: 120 gallons (450+ liters).

Diet:
