Peppermint Hogfish – Bodianus opercularis
Bodianus opercularis, commonly known as the Peppermint Hogfish, is a beautifully patterned Indo-Pacific wrasse known for its alternating red and white bands and vivid contrast. Juveniles display brighter striping that deepens with age, giving the fish its distinctive “peppermint” appearance. Active and resilient, it adapts well to reef or fish-only aquariums with ample rockwork and open water for foraging.
