Aquacultured at Reeflections

Pectinia alcicornis is a dramatic LPS coral recognized for its ruffled, leaf-like plates and serrated ridges that form sculptural, antlered colonies. Under blue-spectrum lighting, tissues glow in greens, teals, and purples with contrasting ridge tips. At night, it can deploy long sweeper tentacles, so give it elbow room.

Origin: Indo-Pacific – Indonesia, Philippines, Great Barrier Reef
Depth: 5–40 m (15–130 ft)
Lighting: Low to moderate – excels under blue/actinic spectrum
Flow: Low to moderate, indirect (to avoid tearing delicate tissue)
Placement: Lower–mid rockwork with space from neighbors (sweepers)
Temperature: 75–80°F (24–27°C)
Salinity: 1.024–1.026 SG
pH: 8.1–8.4
Feeding: Benefits from occasional target feeding (fine particulate coral foods, rotifers; small mysis)
Aggression Level: Moderate to high at night (long sweepers)
Growth Rate: Slow to moderate
Care Level: Intermediate – stable parameters and room to expand
