Description
RF Nuclear Splatter Pizza Anemone – Stichodactyla tapetum (Reeflections Farm Aquacultured)
Stichodactyla tapetum, known as the RF Nuclear Splatter Pizza Anemone, is an exclusive Reeflections Farm aquacultured strain of the Maxi Mini Carpet Anemone. This ultra-premium morph displays an electrifying mix of neon green, hot pink, and deep indigo tones, with atomic yellow “splatter” patterns radiating across its dense oral disc. Each specimen is completely unique, with color distribution and pattern intensity varying naturally, making it one of the most visually explosive and collectible anemones in the hobby. Despite its small size, it delivers immense visual impact, glowing vividly under blue-spectrum lighting.
Lighting: Moderate to high (120–200 PAR); peak fluorescence and splatter contrast achieved under blue-dominant LED lighting
Flow: Moderate; prefers gentle, variable flow that allows subtle tentacle movement while keeping its foot securely attached
Placement: Bottom to mid-level on rockwork or sand in a shallow depression; ensure stable footing and minimal disturbance once settled
Temperature: 76–80°F (24–27°C)
Salinity: 1.024–1.026 SG
pH: 8.1–8.4
Alkalinity: 8–10 dKH
Calcium: 400–440 ppm
Magnesium: 1250–1350 ppm
Nutrients: Moderate (NO₃ 5–15 ppm, PO₄ 0.05–0.10 ppm); stable nutrient conditions preserve fluorescence and overall tissue health
Feeding: Photosynthetic but benefits from weekly feeding with small meaty items such as mysis, brine shrimp, or finely chopped seafood to promote vibrant coloration
Aggression: Moderate; sticky surface with mild sting—maintain space from sensitive LPS or soft corals
Growth Rate: Moderate; remains compact (5–10 cm diameter) but expands impressively under consistent lighting and feeding
Care Level: Intermediate – hardy and well-adapted once settled, but sensitive to sudden parameter or placement changes
Compatibility: Semi-aggressive; ideal for mixed reefs with thoughtful placement; avoid contact with other anemones or delicate coral species
