  • Fully automated alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium testing
  • Precision results with consistent repeatability
  • Up to 24 tests per day
  • Apex Fusion graphing, alerts, and automation support
  • Compatible with automatic dosing control when paired with DŌS

The Neptune Systems Trident ACM is an automated testing device designed to continuously monitor alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium in saltwater reef aquariums. By eliminating manual testing, it provides consistent, high-frequency data to help identify trends, detect issues early, and maintain long-term system stability.

The Trident connects directly to a compatible Neptune Systems Apex controller and logs all results in Apex Fusion, where data can be visualized, analyzed, and used to trigger alerts or automated responses.

How It Works

The Trident uses automated titration and an internal colorimeter to replicate traditional test kit chemistry with far greater precision. On a scheduled basis, the unit draws a water sample, mixes it with reagent, and measures the resulting color change.

After testing, the sample and reagent are expelled to a waste container, and the results are recorded automatically. This process repeats based on your configured testing schedule.

Apex Integration & Alerts

All test results are displayed within Apex Fusion, where values are tracked over time. Alerts can be configured to notify you if alkalinity, calcium, or magnesium fall outside safe ranges.

Beyond notifications, Trident data can trigger automated system responses such as adjusting dosing, pausing equipment, or activating safeguards to protect your aquarium.

Automatic Dosing Control

When paired with a Neptune Systems DŌS or DŌS QuietDrive pump, the Trident enables Automatic Dosing Control (ADC). This feature adjusts dosing based on real-time test results while maintaining built-in safety limits.

  • Dosing adjustments limited to ±35% per change
  • System safeguards detect abnormal behavior and revert to safe settings

Setup & Operation

Installation is straightforward. The Trident connects to the Apex system via a single cable, uses tubing for sample intake and waste output, and is configured through guided steps in Apex Fusion. No manual calibration or reagent mixing is required.

The unit is compact and quiet enough for installation inside most aquarium cabinets.
