Description

Gramma loreto, commonly known as the Royal Gramma, is a classic reef fish prized for its striking bi-coloration and peaceful yet confident demeanor. This species displays a vivid purple to violet anterior that transitions sharply into a bright golden-yellow posterior, creating one of the most recognizable color patterns in marine aquariums. Its compact size, bold contrast, and natural hovering behavior around rockwork make the Royal Gramma a visually engaging addition to both reef and community marine systems.

Native to the Western Atlantic and Caribbean, the Royal Gramma thrives in aquariums that replicate its natural reef crevice habitat, where it establishes a small territory and retreats when threatened.
